The Value of Corporate Social Responsibility in Relation to the SDGs of the Paris Agenda
In this historical moment of transition and profound transformation, we are all called upon to build the future.
Sustainability is the only possible choice for promoting economic and productive growth while protecting the environment, society and the community, for the benefit of future generations.
At Kontractor, we have integrated the pursuit of the following SDGs Goals (Sustainable Development), as defined in the Paris Agenda into our corporate assets.
SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
Designing and building to make increasing use of energy from renewable sources, aiming for buildings that are energy self-sufficient and carbon neutral, is one of our sustainable objectives.
Equipping buildings with photovoltaic panels, designing and constructing them to make the most of natural light, and creating envelopes with high thermal insulation performance are some of the many concrete design choices we implement in every project.
SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
A well-organised working environment, fairly remunerated and carried out in full compliance with all regulations: at Kontractor, we believe that every project is a space for sharing commitment, expertise and responsibility in the delivery of a common project, capable of ensuring economic satisfaction and professional growth for everyone involved thanks to the necessary measures for safety, welfare, inclusion, prevention of discrimination of any kind, internal communication, and awareness of the issues linked to reducing the environmental impact of the entire sector.
SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities
Containing the social, environmental and landscape impact of properties within the contexts where they are built means making a tangible contribution to improving the quality of life of the communities that live there.
For Kontractor, placing people at the centre means listening to the needs and requirements of all stakeholders and making them a fundamental component of every property we deliver.
SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
Doing more and better with fewer raw materials and less energy.. Consuming only what is needed, optimising the management of natural resources, placing technological and material innovation at the service of reducing environmental impact, prioritising local resources and thereby limiting the impact of the supply chain throughout every construction phase
and choosing materials with a high recycled content: these are the objectives we always pursue responsibly, according to the principles of responsible design and construction.
SDG 13 - Climate Action
With atmospheric CO2 concentration more than 48% higher than in the pre-industrial era, actively countering ongoing climate change must be one of the main objectives of the construction sector.
Only by investing resources in environmental protection can the goal of effectively reducing climate-altering emissions be achieved. All the design and operational choices we propose move towards this objective, in the awareness that the sustainability of a property is an advantage for everyone, including future generations.
SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals
For Kontractor, it is important to promote inclusive collaborations, built on principles and values, a common vision and shared objectives that place people and the planet at the centre. Partnership is understood as teamwork, where everyone, in their own role and through the enhancement of their qualities and skills, can make the difference in achieving the final result.
Kontractor relies on the best collaborations according to the required expertise, selects tailor-made project teams made up of companies and professionals who share the same strategic corporate vision, promotes knowledge of the features that enhance the quality of properties, encourages research, innovation and the most sustainable design and technical solutions, promotes good circular-economy practices, and activates virtuous collaborative dynamics with local socio-cultural organisations.
This is a challenge we address at the opening of every project, from the initial phases through to completion, and finally by supporting the client in the correct use of the building.
«Sustainability is the only possible choice for promoting economic and productive growth while protecting the environment, society and the community, for the benefit of our time and future generations.»
