News Item 1
Transport: Kontractor builds Italy’s first SSTPA Gold-certified parking facility
Secure rest area for 301 heavy goods vehicles
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome, 30 May - Nection by Padrosa — built by Kontractor — is Italy’s first secure parking facility for heavy goods vehicles certified SSTPA Gold under EU Delegated Regulation 2022/1012 and TAPA Spain, recognized as a European model for safety, sustainability and innovation applied to logistics. Located in Ronchis, in the province of Udine, along the A4 motorway near the Latisana exit, the EU-funded project was created to address a growing need in the sector: developing modern, safe and accessible infrastructure capable of improving the quality of rest stops for truck drivers while also enhancing the surrounding local area and urban context.
Kontractor developed the project through an integrated approach: from studying the project and the intended use of the infrastructure, working alongside the construction management team, through to the delivery of the infrastructure, with particular attention to functional, technological and environmental aspects. The area features 301 secure parking spaces, controlled access, digital booking systems, video surveillance and electric charging stations. These are complemented by services dedicated to drivers, including a refreshment area, showers, laundry facilities, relaxation areas and vehicle washing services, with the aim of ensuring safety, comfort and well-being for drivers.

News Item 2
Transport: Kontractor builds Italy’s first SSTPA Gold-certified parking facility -2-
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome, 30 May - Sustainability was a key driver in the development of the project, through the integration of photovoltaic systems, LED lighting and low-environmental-impact construction solutions designed to improve efficiency and the quality of the spaces. Alongside the infrastructural aspects, Kontractor, together with the client and the partners involved in the project, also sought to build a deeper relationship with the local community by launching a fundraising initiative for the local association “Pan di Zucchero”, which supports families in need and charitable initiatives at international level.
“This project is a concrete example of how innovation, sustainability and collaboration can contribute to the evolution of Italian and European logistics. Investing in safe, efficient infrastructure aligned with ESG principles means responding to increasingly strategic needs for the transport system and for the competitiveness of the local area. It is the result of a shared vision among partners who chose to build a model capable of generating lasting value for the entire supply chain,” commented Camillo Mastrolorenzo, General Manager of Kontractor.
“Nection is tangible proof of how dialogue between companies, institutions, professionals and the local community can generate projects capable of creating real, lasting and shared value. In a context in which logistics is called upon to evolve according to criteria increasingly focused on sustainability, safety and efficiency, we believe that the ability to work as a system is the key to developing infrastructure capable of meeting today’s needs and the future challenges of Italy and Europe,” added Ilaria Pasta, Brand & Development Director at Kontractor.
